Modern Slavery Statement
Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking
Effective Date: June 2026 | Version: 1.0
1. Introduction
This Modern Slavery Statement is published voluntarily by Skill Up LLC (trading as AI Governance Institute), a New Jersey, USA company (Company Number: 0450466060).
2. Our Business
AI Governance Institute is a global online professional development platform specialising in artificial intelligence governance, risk management, compliance, ethics, and related areas.
We operate entirely online and provide digital training services to learners worldwide.
Our primary activities include:
- Development and delivery of online professional training courses
- Issuing digital Certificates of Completion
- Marketing and selling professional education and training globally
3. Our Supply Chain
As a digital-first organisation, our supply chain is limited and primarily consists of:
- Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform providers (including e-learning, hosting, and course delivery systems)
- Payment processors and financial service providers
- Cloud hosting and content delivery infrastructure providers
- Freelancers and independent contractors engaged in content development, design, and marketing
We do not operate in industries traditionally associated with a high risk of modern slavery, such as manufacturing, agriculture, construction, or hospitality.
However, we recognise our responsibility to identify, assess, and reduce risks of modern slavery and human trafficking across all aspects of our operations and supply chain.
4. Our Policies
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour.
This position is reflected in:
- Our Terms of Service and contractor agreements, which include compliance obligations
- Our internal procurement and onboarding practices for service providers
- Our commitment to fair, lawful, and transparent remuneration practices
We expect all suppliers, contractors, and partners to uphold the same standards.
5. Due Diligence
We take the following steps to help identify and mitigate modern slavery risks:
- Engaging only with reputable and established global technology and service providers
- Reviewing publicly available information regarding the ethical and labour practices of key partners
- Including anti-slavery and ethical conduct clauses in relevant contractor and service agreements where applicable
We aim to continuously improve our due diligence processes as our operations grow.
6. Training and Awareness
As AI Governance Institute expands, and as we onboard additional employees, contractors, and partners, we are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks.
Where appropriate, we will provide guidance and training to support recognition and reporting of ethical, labour, and human rights concerns within our operations and supply chain.
7. Reporting Concerns
If any individual — including learners, contractors, partners, or third parties — suspects modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, or unethical labour practices in connection with our operations or supply chain, they are encouraged to report it.
